Who We Are

Travel Visions Aloha for the Blind (TVA) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization founded on the belief that adventure, independence, and connection should be accessible to all. We are the only organization on Oʻahu offering structured, no-cost outdoor activities specifically designed for the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community. Led by Marri Murdoch, a visually impaired athlete, advocate, and public speaker, TVA is powered by a dedicated team of BVI individuals and passionate volunteers who work together to create life-enriching experiences. We believe in the strength of teamwork—our events are made possible through collaboration, shared vision, and a deep commitment to accessibility. We are more than an event-based organization—we are a community of empowerment, resilience, and inclusion. Our volunteers, many of whom have backgrounds in adaptive recreation, accessibility, and community service, play a vital role in ensuring every participant has the support they need. Through teamwork and innovation, TVA is paving the way for greater opportunities, deeper connections, and a stronger, more inclusive Hawaiʻi.

What We Do

TVA is dedicated to empowering the blind and visually impaired BVI community on Oʻahu through inclusive outdoor activities, education, and connection. We address the challenges of isolation, limited access to recreational opportunities, and the need for greater community engagement by offering free, structured events designed specifically for BVI participants. From guided hikes and cultural experiences to adaptive sports and hands-on workshops, TVA creates spaces where individuals can build confidence, form meaningful connections, and experience the world in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and empowering. Our trained volunteers provide 1:1 support to ensure a safe, engaging, and fully immersive experience for all participants. We believe that blindness is not a barrier to adventure, independence, or personal growth. By fostering a supportive and inclusive community, TVA is breaking down barriers and illuminating new possibilities for the BVI community in Hawaiʻi.
