Hospice Volunteers Wanted

St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii is one of the largest providers of care options for seniors and caregivers in the Islands. Our hospice program is the largest department within the St. Francis Healthcare System and has a need for volunteers who are willing to provide companionship or respite for patients. Volunteers visit hospice patients at our inpatient unit, in nursing facilities and/or patient homes. Volunteer greeters also assist visitors to our inpatient unit.

We are also looking for volunteers willing to share talents such as perform music, certified in healing touch, pet therapy, licensed massage therapist or haircuts.

We are proud to be part of the We Honor Veterans program that matches veteran volunteers with veteran patients for companionship and pinning ceremonies.

Some volunteers choose to help with one activity, and some choose to help with them all. We work with your availability.

In addition to online training that you can complete at home, we host an orientation where we discuss the legacy of St. Francis, review our policies and procedures, and the protocol for visiting patients. All volunteers are required to provide TB clearance. We will complete a background and personal reference check.
