Calendar Happens On Aug 26, 2017
Time 8:30am - 12pm

Description

Pali Lookout is the most visited State Park in Hawaiʻi with over a million visitors each year. KMWP has worked with volunteers since 2014 to take out weeds and planted native plants, including Kāwelu to give residents and visitors alike a glimpse of a healthy native forest with trees, shrubs and an understory of ferns and grasses. By restoring this garden in an accsessible area, we hope to inspire others to support and join in efforts for watershed protection.

What to expect

We will be using small hand tools, including sickles, trowels and shovels to remove weeds and plant in the native garden area. If plants are available, we will plant several species of native plants. The work area is steep in some areas, and muddy at times, so please be prepared to get dirty on this trip!
