Description

For the Japanese community, New Years is the most important of all cultural holidays when millions of people visit a shrine on New Years day.

Embrace the spirit of the Japanese here in Hawaii at Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha-Hawaii Dazaifu Tenmangu where you can be blessed for the new year, get your head bitten by a Japanese Shishi lion for good luck, be invigorated by taiko drums and partake of ozoni mochi soup.

Volunteer opportunites are abundant during this time - anywhere from kitchen help, booth helpers, guides, etc. There is no need to volunteer for the whole duration - any amount of time is appreciated.

Be a part of an event that is culturally exciting and spiritually enriching.
