This exciting event is just one stop in a series of consumer, trade and press focused Braai (South African BBQ) events that will take place as part of a Food and Wine/Travel Road trip, exploring American BBQ cuisine and culture and introducing South African Braai cuisine, wine and culture at the same time. The event will feature South African wines, Braai-master Hugo Uys and a live deejay performance by Xander Ferreira, South African artist and DJ. The series has already visited, New Orleans, California (LA) and Texas.
Tickets are $20 and proceeds benefit Aloha United Way. Attendees will be able to sample delicious South African wines and BBQ, listen to live music by DJ Xander Ferreira and watch live cooking demonstrations.PBS will also be on hand to film portions of the event for a documentary to air at a later date.
