Description

1 in 6 adults in Hawaii struggles with reading and writing. Make a difference in your community by working with a low-literacy adult to improve important reading and writing skills! Training, resources, and ongoing support are provided by Hawaii Literacy, a local nonprofit providing literacy services since 1971.

TRAINING DATES/LOCATION
- April 2, Saturday: 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- April 9, Saturday: 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Volunteers must
- be a high school graduate
- attend the training to become a certified Laubach tutor
- be able to commit to working with a student for 6 months (does not have to be consecutive), meeting with your student 1 or 2 times a week for 1-1.5 hours. 

Volunteers do not need to be English language experts, grammar perfectionists, or human spell-checkers.
