Who We Are
Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawai‘i (HMHB) was initially established as a statewide steering committee and became a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization in 1992. We are a local nonprofit agency that is part of a national network of organizations and individuals committed to improving Hawai‘i’s maternal, child and family health through collaborative efforts in public education, advocacy and partner development.
What We Do
Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawaii is a statewide organization committed to promoting, protecting and improving maternal and child health in Hawaii. Our purpose is to develop, implement and participate in health education and outreach programs that benefit women and infants at each stage of pregnancy and first year of life. Furthermore, we are empowered to increase access to quality care by engaging a broad group of stakeholders to improve health outcomes.
In addition to workshops, we also run the following programs:
Crib For Kids - Safe-sleep education program that provides cribs to low-income families.
Piko Pals - New parent support program that connects and mentors new parents.
Text4Baby - Prenatal updates texted to expecting parents.
Mothers Care Line - Phone support for new parents.
