Who We Are

We are a Catholic Healthcare System in Hawaii, sponsored by The Sisters of St. Francis, committed to creating healthy communities in the Spirit of Christ's Healing Ministry.

St. Francis Hospice is the oldest hospice program in Hawaii and our core service. It was created in 1978 to ease the physical discomfort of terminally ill patients and allow them to face "death with dignity". Our volunteers are an essential part of the hospice program. If you want to help your community and have compassion for others, you might be the volunteer we are looking for.

Email Angela Houghton at ahoughton@stfrancishawaii.org for more information.

What We Do

We are in need of hospice volunteers who are interested in providing respite for caregivers, companionship to patients in nursing facilities and/or to help in our inpatient unit in Nuuanu.
If you are a licensed massage therapist, licensed cosmetologist, pet therapy certified or Healing Touch certified, we receive regular requests for those services as well.
We also have other volunteer opportunities such as assisting staff in our adult day cares, reading to our preschoolers in Ewa Beach, crafting group and helping with a variety of events throughout the year.
Please email your interest to ahoughton@stfrancishawaii.org or call 808-547-8134.
