Who We Are

The Honolulu Zoo Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Honolulu Zoo. As its official nonprofit partner, we are driven by a shared commitment to conservation, education, and the celebration of Pacific Tropical ecosystems. Rooted in the Hawaiian values of mālama (caring) and ho‘okipa (hospitality), we work to inspire a deep respect for wildlife and the natural world in our local and global communities.

What We Do

As the nonprofit support organization for the Honolulu Zoo, the Honolulu Zoo Society advances conservation, education, and community engagement efforts that align with the Zoo’s mission. We: Fund and support conservation programs that focus on Pacific Tropical ecosystems and endangered species. Provide educational experiences for children, families, and schools, including zoo camps, outreach programs, and interactive exhibits. Enhance guest experiences through cultural programming, volunteer opportunities, and special events that reflect the values of mālama (caring) and ho‘okipa (hospitality). Build community connections that inspire stewardship of the natural world and foster a lifelong love of wildlife. By working in partnership with the Honolulu Zoo, we help create meaningful experiences that connect people to animals, nature, and Hawaiian values.
