Pouhala Marsh Wetland Restoration Volunteer Work Day

In partnership with the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Foresty and Wildlife, the Hawaii Nature Center coordinates volunteer work days that focus on the restoration of wetlands that provide important habitat areas for the endangered Hawaiian waterbirds, including the Hawaiian black-necked stilt.  Work will focus on the removal of invasive plants like mangrove and cattail. Wetland restoration volunteer work days will take place once a month on a Saturday from 8:30-11:30 am at Pouhala Marsh in Waipahu. Hawai`i Nature Center is a private, non-profit organization. Our primary mission is to provide hands-on environmental education programs to families and children. Contact HNC for the wetland volunteer work day schedule.
