Summer Reading Program Volunteer

Liliha Public Library is seeking responsible volunteers to help with all aspects of the Summer Reading Program. The annual program runs from June 4 through July 15, 2017. Pre-registration runs from May 30 - through June 3.

Volunteers will be welcoming families, explaining the program, enrolling participants, awarding prizes, logging statistics, assisting librarians with special projects, programming, and other tasks as needed.

Volunteer  Criteria:

  • Adults and teens, 15 years or older are encouraged to apply.
  • Must possess strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to exercise sound judgment
  • Must be reliable and dependable
  • Must be able to commit to work a fixed and consistent schedule (drop-in volunteering is not available)
  • Must commitment to a 6- 7 week schedule
  • Must be able to volunteer 8 - 10 hours a week
  • Must like to work with children

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference and support Liliha Public Library. It's also a fun way to earn community service credit and looks great on resumes and college applications.
