If you are passionate about teaching life skills and Bible lessons to school-aged children from elementary to high school, we would love to have you as part of our team. We create a safe space for youth to socialize, enjoy meals, and have fun together.

Must be at least 18 years and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must pass a background check and adhere to all Salvation Army policies while working under the guidance of the Lihue Officers & employees.

Youth Programming:

Fridays, 4:00pm - 7:00pm

Sundays, 10:30am - 1:00pm

Join us at The Salvation Army Lihue Thrift Store to help sort donations and organize a high-volume donation-based income generator that directly benefits the local community. Volunteers will assist in maintaining a clean, stocked, and organized sales floor while also helping customers as needed.

Must be able to lift 25-50lbs. Must adhere to The Salvation Army policies and procedures while working under the guidance of the Head Cashier.

Store Hours: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Our Community Assistance Center is in need of volunteers to help us with organizing, filing, shredding, initiating return phone calls, data entry, preparing food bags & hygiene kits, and serving friends experiencing homelessness.

Volunteers can come during the week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00am - 3:00pm. We can coordinate and will work with your schedule.

Volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 10bs. Must be comfortable with office equipment including computers, photocopiers, scanners, etc.

We welcome volunteers who love to dance, play brass instruments or ukulele, like to sing, and are willing to teach our youth. We create a safe environment for youth to socialize, enjoy meals, and have fun together.

Wednesday: 4:00pm-6:00pm (teen mentorship/music program)

Friday: 5:00pm-7:00pm (teen group, twice a month)

Sunday: 11:00am - 12:30pm (music program)

Kauluwela Mission Corps' Food Pantry distributes quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. This program supplies critical nutrition to over 100 households per week.

Many recipients of the food pantry speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin. We would like to provide these individuals and families with the best service and communicate with them effectively.

The Food Pantry distributes pre-packed food bags on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Families and groups are welcome. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Aloha! Every Tuesday here at the Salvation Army in Kona we give out emergency food bags that feeds over 300 of our local 'ohana each month. We could use your help packing these bags before those in need arrive so that we can get them their food in a timely manner.

Come spend an hour of your time and pack food bags and pack food bags from 10:00am to 11:00am Tuesday mornings.

We are seeking local volunteers who are willing to be on standby, ready to respond and support our Emergency Disaster Services when the needs arise.

If you are willing to be called upon during these times (as long as your family and home are safe), we would greatly appreciate your help.

We will contact you if and when the need for disaster response is required in the areas near your home. Tasks will depend on each emergency situation, so we will discuss the physical requirements with you at that time.

The Salvation Army Kaneohe Corps and Community Center provides multiple community enrichment and family strengthening programs, but does not have janitorial staff.

Volunteer janitorial services would ensure that our facilities are at their best as we continue to serve Windward Oahu. The opportunity would include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and basic sanitation of our classrooms, bathrooms, and other facilities.

We strongly encourage families who are interested in serving together, and we certainly have jobs that children could help with, but only with adult supervision.

We are looking for a volunteer to help assist in driving to the Foodbank to pick up food for our Food Pantry every week. We need a driver for every other Thursday and the times will vary based on the Foodbank's availability.

As a Volunteer Reception Assistant, you will be the first port of call for any visitors to The Salvation Army Kaneohe Corps. We will rely on you to create a good impression so above anything else you’ll need to have a good rapport with many different types of people helping them to feel looked after and at ease.

Key Responsibilities: - Answering the telephone, taking and relaying messages - Greeting visitors in a welcoming and friendly manner, and directing them to the right location - Monitoring those entering and exiting the building - Keeping the reception area tidy - Providing information about any activities going on in and around the building. - Providing general clerical and administrative support as required.
