Instructor for Outdoor Activities:
This is one time/one day in HILO!!
Project Hawai’i, Inc. is a volunteer staffed nonprofit run by public donations. We provide a free summer camp to homeless children and provide them with the opportunity to learn new skills and stay active and healthy over the long summer break.
Our camp has a unique approach to allowing the community share their talents with our keiki.
We have two openings on July 13th in Hilo for one hour each opening.
This field trip is hosted in an open park with limited anything... just open field.
We are seeking the volunteers who would like to teach our introduce our keiki to fun active sports, dance, or other active outdoor play.
The activity needs to be geared for children between 3-8 years old. Simple play.
We will have their jr leaders and teen mentors to assist and guide the little one's through the activities as well.
Some fun ideas would be relay races, team challenges, dance, group play.
For safety reasons activities not approved include baseball, anything with sticks, poles, or other "hitting objects". Any activity that includes tackling or pushing, or similar.
YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE all supplies and items needed to carry out your task. We are walking from the Discovery Center to the park, having lunch and then participating in your activity.
Other requirements! Seems obvious...
Must enjoy working with small children
Have lots of patience and experience with special needs children
Be on time
And all volunteers are subject to background check and child offense database
To apply, send your name, information, and tell provide your activity with details.
Include the items or equipment you will bring and your experience working with young children with this activity.
