HILO Prince Kuhio Plaza First Hawaiian Bank July 9th 11a-1p
Project Hawai’i, Inc. summer camp is in full swing and we are gearing up to provide all our homeless keiki with their back to school supportive needs. You can make a difference in a few short hours during our event.
Project Hawai’i, Inc. is a volunteer staffed nonprofit that is solely supported by public donations and we need your support to assure all our keiki are prepared for their first day back to school. Studies show that when a child (homeless or not) is not prepared for school and the stress of being picked out of the class is a very high level stress factor that sticks with them over the years. The brain development of any childhood failures travels with them to adulthood and helps set their own self of sense. Our program prepares them emotionally and mentally to succeed in school and we then provide all the tools they need to succeed. Help change the statistics and help these children succeed.
EVENT INFORMATION:
Our awareness/fundraising collection event is a great way to be involved in the community. We will work as a whole and break up into smaller teams to hold awareness signs and collect donations from the community around the Prince Kuhio Plaza block. Our teen mentors (the homeless teens) enrolled in our program will also be there to support the efforts towards their own success... what a way to give back and take charge of their own destiny.
