Project Hawai’i, Inc. is seeking a volunteer to host a hands-on cooking workshop for a small group of 6 homeless teen girls participating in our summer mentoring and life skills program in Keaʻau.

Our teen mentoring program helps vulnerable youth build confidence, independence, healthy coping skills, and life readiness through positive experiences and mentorship. We are entirely volunteer-run and supported through public donations.

We are looking for someone passionate about cooking, nutrition, hospitality, or culinary arts who can guide the girls through preparing a meal together that will also serve as their dinner for the evening.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Host a fun and engaging cooking class for 6 teens
  • Provide ingredients and supplies needed for the meal
  • Lead the workshop independently (you may bring an assistant or friend)
  • Host at our Keaʻau dormitory
  • Choose your preferred date/ slot through our online scheduling system
  • Experience working with teens or group activities preferred

  • Chefs, cooks, culinary students, nutrition educators, food entrepreneurs, or anyone who loves teaching through food.
