Duty Officer- Virtual: In this role, you'll be the first line of contact for first responders to the Red Cross. Police/Fire call us and give the duty officer all the details of the event (usually a home fire, flooding, downed tree, etc.) This person receives call from first responders, takes down all the information, and then calls the DAT team and relays the information. Then, the DAT team responders go to the location of the event and assist.
- Willing to be on call 24hrs for up to a week at a time while waiting for calls
- Calls the DAT team with all needed information so that they can respond accordingly
- calls will be forwarded to your personal cell phone
- Great option for former first responders, emergency management students
