Volunteer: Small Gifts for Hospitalized ChildrenWhen a child who suffers from a life-threatening illness is hospitalized for medical treatment, they can spend weeks and sometimes months in the hospital. Volunteer: Games and Activities for ChildrenCreate interactive group games and crafts for children, ages 3-11 years old, for one of HUGS' monthly respite events. Each month, HUGS conducts a respite evening for seriously ill children and their siblings so that their parents can have important time for themselves to relieve the daily stresses of caring for their ill child. It is also a time in which these children can have fun, meet other children in similar circumstances and regain their childhood. Respite events are held in the evenings at the HUGS Center or in West Oahu locations. Contact HUGS to find out specific dates and locations.
