Volunteer: Day CaptainAction Line is the Hawaii affiliate of Call for Action, a nationwide network of consumer help organizations. We are sponsored here in Hawaii by KHON2 and located at their facilities. Our phone volunteers contact members of the community to assist them in resolving consumer issues they have with companies and government. The Day Captain is a volunteer supervisory position to assist the phone volunteers, organize the tasks for the day, provide research, handle incoming messages and contact outside resources that support the work of Action Line. The Day Captain hours are from 9am to 1pm one day a week. Basic computer skills and good communication skills are necessary as well as a desire to help the consumers of Hawaii to resolve their issues and give referrals.
