Help Hawaii's Seniors

Did you know that one out of every five Hawaii residents is over age 60? Hawaii has the fastest growing senior population in the country - this growth combined with our high cost of living and lack of affordable housing is making survival very difficult for many of our kupuna. Our seniors have a unique set of needs that are both complex and wide-ranging. From managing their medications, making ends meet, maintaining a safe home and planning for long term care our seniors face lots of challenges. Many live on fixed incomes and even small changes, like an increase in rent, can spell disaster.

Through Get Connected Hawaii, you can make a difference for Hawaii's seniors. Help prepare and deliver meals at Lanikila Pacific or Hawaii Meals on Wheels. Spend one-on-one time with an elderly individual through the Waikiki Health Center's Friendly Neighbors program. Collect toiletries and other basic neccessities for low-income seniors and donate the items to Catholic Charities Hawaii. Interact with older adults in an adult day care setting with St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii.

All of these opportunities, and more, are available to you through Get Connected Hawaii. It's up to us to care for those who once took care of us, browse our listings to find an opportunity that works for you!
