Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc.

Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc. (Sounding Joy), established in 2002, is the only 501(c)3, non-profit organization to promote music therapy in Hawai‘i. It was founded based on our belief that music can change people’s lives significantly and responding to the strong public demands for music therapy in Hawai‘i, from people of diverse communities who love Hawai‘i and music.

Sounding Joy’s mission is to increase people’s accessibility to music therapy, educate the public about the benefits of music therapy, and advance music therapy research and studies in Hawai‘i.

Our Main Activities are:

1) Promotion and Advocacy for Music Therapy through seminars, workshops, demonstrations, resource fairs, media, etc.

2) Music Therapy Clinical Work at Sounding Joy’s clinic, schools, nursing facilities, hospitals, homeless shelters, community centers, workplace, etc.

3) Fundraising through benefit concerts, charity events, volunteer activities, special campaigns, sponsor solicitation, etc.

We provide volunteer/educational experiences about these activities.
